Salvadorean Liga MB round 11 best performance: John Hernandez

Colombian Center John Hernandez (207-C-1984) had an amazing evening in the last round for Santiagueno BC, receiving a Hoops Agents Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 42-year old player had a double-double of 42 points and 19 rebounds, while his team edged out Ahuachapan (#11, 1-9) 91-87. Santiagueno maintains the 6th position in Salvadorean Liga MB. Santiagueno is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-5 record. Hernandez turned to be Santiagueno's top player in his first season with the team. John Hernandez has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 26.0ppg), rebounds (5th best: 16.5rpg) and averages impressive 1.9bpg and 63.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Darius Daniels (183-PG-1997) of San Miguel. Daniels had a very good evening with a double-double of 40 points and 10 assists. Of course he led San Miguel to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Santiagueno (#6, 5-5) 126-106. San Miguel's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 6-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Daniels is a newcomer at San Miguel, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.2ppg (#6). His other stats are also decent: 5.0rpg and 4.0apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Santiagueno's star - Colombian forward Anders Valencia (201-F-1997). Valencia got into 30-points club by scoring 39 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds and eleven assists. Despite Valencia's great performance the Santiagueno BC lost 106-126 to slightly higher-ranked San Miguel (#5, 6-4). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. The last thing Santiagueno needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 5 victories and 5 lost games. Valencia has a great season in El Salvador. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 25.1ppg (7th best).
